Complaint: acne
Cause: Apart from hormonal triggers, food intolerances, gastrointestinal disorders, zinc deficiency and stress can also cause acne.
Treatment: In general, preparations made from astringent plants are indicated for acne.
Teas
Teas made from nimba, oak bark, honey clover, hibiscus, dandelion and lady’s mantle can be considered. These should be drunk individually or as a tea blend over a four-week period – three to four cups a day.
Washings
On the other hand, decoctions of the plants mentioned should be used for washing: To do this, simply let the teas cool down, soak a cloth and use it to wash twice a day.
Masks
Another possible treatment is masks with the medicinal plants mentioned. To do this, mix a few spoonfuls of the tea with a little healing clay (for external use). This paste is applied to the affected areas of skin once a day. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then remove with warm water.
Nutrition
Fatty, acidic and salty foods as well as alcohol and nicotine must be avoided.
