Diarrhea
is a completely normal defense reaction of the body and therefore not a cause for concern. By increasing intestinal activity, the body tries to get rid of pathogenic germs such as bacteria or harmful substances as quickly as possible. For this reason, diarrhea should not be suppressed by taking medication.
Treatment
Hydration: It is essential to replace the fluid lost through increased bowel movements – drink electrolyte solutions frequently and in small amounts, as well as water, black tea with sugar or, very effectively, rice water (that is, the water that is left over after washing uncooked rice with it). This does not work with pre-cooked rice, of course. Avoid milk, alcohol and coffee, as well as sweetened sodas, as they make diarrhea worse.
Nutrition: Fast for a few hours. Then eat some freshly cooked rice mixed with some yoghurt. To make it taste good, sprinkle some roasted and salted sesame seeds on top. After the diarrhea has subsided, you should avoid fatty, rich foods for a few days.
tea: Drink three cups of freshly brewed lady’s mantle tea daily to calm the overactive intestine.
